We are so excited to introduce our new supplier! Sidwell Street Bakehouse!
This is a bakery with community at their heart, and create a truly gorgeous sourdough - made with organic, locally grown and milled flours.
We’ll be using their sourdough for sandwiches and toast, but also having it available for you guys to buy! We’ll be stocking their ‘mostly white’ and ‘mostly white with seeds’. If anyone wants to preorder just pop us a message or pop in to see us!
Here is a bit about them:
‘We’re a not-for-profit community bakery in central Exeter, producing naturally leavened sourdoughs.

We use predominantly stoneground grain, sourced as locally as possible from growers and millers across the South West, and deliberately pay a fair price to support smaller farms and mills. As part of St Sidwell’s Community Centre, any surplus we make is reinvested into the project and our work providing training, volunteering and routes into employment within the local community.‘

And we are open and ready for the furry dance! Open 9-6!

🌞 the furry dance is on Saturday and we are so excited! 🌞
We will be open from 9-6 for all of our usuals, we have loads of cakes, cookies, brownies, cinnamon buns, banana bread and cheesecake on the go getting ready for Saturday!
Our kitchen will be open as usual 9-4 with our full menu available until sold out!
We also have a very exciting announcement… Cortona Gelato Lab will be joining us! With a gazebo set up opposite the cafe they have a huge selection of gelatos to fuel you through the day! Have a taste of some exclusive flavours and talk to the people that make it!!
At 6 we will be closing up shop and joining in with the day, this is our first furry dance and we’re very excited to experience it and join in with the fun! So much so that we will be opening at 11 on Sunday! (Sorry! But I think we may be a little… tired!)

A little history of the furry dance: “The exact origins of the dance have been lost in time, however, it is believed that it celebrated the safe return of local fishermen who had been trading their fish for furs in Novia Scotia in the 1800s. After months away, wives and children would welcome their husbands, sweethearts and fathers home, dancing through the streets.”
