We're turning the lights off on January 1, 2023.

As a small independent restaurant, it's been a struggle to cope on our own, having had the rug pulled from under us, with rising operational costs and facing a tough winter ahead. This cost of living crisis is hitting us all and while we tried to hold out for our staff, it has become unviable to remain open.

New Year's eve, December 31 will be East Kitchen's last trading day.

We are so grateful to our customers for the support and patronage, our hardworking staff and our wonderful suppliers for the last 11 months. We hope to have a chance to say thank you to our customers in person in the remaining weeks of this year.

East Kitchen will be open from 5:30pm every Wednesday to Saturday from November 30 to December 31. And on Monday, December 5. There are some Christmas parties booked so tables may be limited on certain dates.

We have loved introducing the Asian concept of 'sharing plates' - of family-style, communal dining - and it has been a privilege to be part of the Lyme Regis foodscape with East Kitchen. Our other eatery, Red Panda will continue to operate in Lyme Regis and Exeter.

Lyme's eclectic mix of local independent businesses is struggling. If you can afford it, please show your support for your favourite restaurant, hairdresser, tradesperson, deli, café or gift shop.

The boys did good! So much fun at today dropping hundreds of tempura oysters for Oyster Celebration event.
Thanks to for the magic ingredient in our kimchi bloody mary and to for providing the luscious Portland oysters.
