After a lot of thought, I’ve made the decision to permanently close Mama’s Cupcakes. 🤍
It feels strange even writing that, because this page has held such a huge chapter of my life. What started as an idea in 2024 became hundreds of cakes, cupcakes, celebrations, late nights, stressful moments, proud moments, firsts, mistakes, lessons and memories that I’ll genuinely carry with me for a long time.
To every single person who placed an order, recommended me, shared a post, left a lovely comment, came to see me at an event or trusted me to make something for an important day in your life, thank you. You allowed me to create things I never thought I’d be capable of creating, and I’ll always be grateful for that.
But sometimes you have to know when a chapter has reached its ending.
As some of you may already know, we’re starting a completely new journey of our own. We’re beginning the process of moving to Canada, and from there we want to travel, experience more of the world, make memories together and build a life that looks very different from the one we have now.
We’re only 22, and I think I’ve reached the point where I’ve realised there is so much life still waiting for us outside of what feels familiar and comfortable. Mama’s Cupcakes gave me something incredible to build and be proud of, but I don’t want to look back years from now and wonder what might have happened if we had been brave enough to go.
So this page isn’t disappearing.
Instead, it’s going to change with me.
From here, this page will become somewhere I share our journey to Canada, travelling the world, family life, the places we see, the things we learn, the chaos that inevitably comes with trying to completely change your life, and whatever comes next.
And because apparently I’m incapable of completely abandoning a piping bag, there will probably still be some baking here and there too. 🤍
If that isn’t what you originally followed this page for, genuinely, please don’t feel bad about unfollowing. You came here for Mama’s Cupcakes, and I completely understand if watching us attempt to pack up our lives and disappear off around the world isn't quite your thing.
But for anyone who does decide to stay, I’m really excited to share what comes next.
I’m incredibly proud of what Mama’s Cupcakes became. Every order, every new design, every customer who came back again, every event and every ridiculous late night finishing cakes taught me something.
This business was never wasted time. It was part of growing up.
But Mama’s Cupcakes, the business, ends here.
The memories stay 🤍
Now, at 22, it feels like the right time to close this chapter, pack our bags and see just how much of this world we can experience.
Thank you for being part of Mama’s Cupcakes. And hopefully, for some of you, this isn't goodbye at all. It’s just the beginning of a very different story. 🤍
