Meet our new General Manager, Will 👋

Here’s a little introduction from him…

Hiya! I thought I’d share a little bit about myself following our Meet the Manager evening at The Riverside.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along. It was brilliant to meet so many of you and properly introduce myself to the community. For those who couldn’t make it, I’m Will, and I’m incredibly proud to be the new General Manager here at Riverside Bar & Kitchen.

For those I haven’t met yet, I’m originally from Darwen, but my career in hospitality has taken me across England and Wales over the past eight years. I’ve had the opportunity to manage busy pubs, restaurants, wedding venues and hotels, learning plenty along the way.

When the opportunity at The Riverside came along, it genuinely felt like a full-circle moment - a chance to bring everything I’ve learned back home to Darwen and help create something really special here.

I’ve always been passionate about creating venues that are big on quality but full of personality. Great food, great drinks and brilliant service are hugely important, but I also love creating fun events and experiences that give people a genuine reason to get dressed up, come out and enjoy a great evening together.

For me, hospitality is ultimately about how a place makes you feel. I want The Riverside to be known for genuine warmth, a friendly welcome and an atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable walking through the door.

A huge part of that starts with our team. I’m really looking forward to getting to know everyone, creating a great place to work and building a team that is proud of what we do. I truly believe that when you have a happy, passionate team, our guests feel it too.

Thank you again for such a warm welcome. It’s great to be home, and I’m incredibly excited about what we can create together ❤️

He took our staff through the new w**es that will be coming to Riverside very soon, explaining each bottle in depth, tasting notes and lots more!

Meet our Head Chef, Katrina 👩‍🍳

With over 18 years of experience, Katrina leads our kitchen here at Riverside, bringing her passion and creativity to every dish she creates.

Her favourite dishes to cook are English classics with a Mediterranean twist, something that fits perfectly with our menu.

Katrina started working in a kitchen at just 17 years old, and her passion for food has continued to grow ever since.

She and the kitchen team are now working hard behind the scenes on the launch of our brand new menu, coming this October👏🏻
