I would like to remember 2 very special people today who have recently passed away. Firstly Steve one of our most loyal customers. I can still see Steve sat on our comfy sofa with a large latte and a slice of cake. A very kind, generous and brave man. RIP.
Secondly, Amanda who silently suffered. In memory of Amanda I'd like every woman who is suffering with menopause to reach out. You will come through it. I did, and went on to find my solemate and start and run a successful business. At the time I thought I'd never return to the person I was because as the name suggests "the Change" is just that. You feel "scrambled."
As a society we need to be more Menopause Aware. It's a very real, important health issue that mostly goes under the radar.
Amanda you are in our thoughts always.
***We also have another important and sad announcement to make. After over 6 years in business in Louth we have decided to close and Saturday 27th May will be our last day open to the public.
There are numerous reasons, the main one being our lease ends shortly, I'm near to retirement and crippling energy costs (which quite frankly takes not only the profit but the fun out of running a business).
Everyone has worked so hard to make the business a success and I thank my partner, Andrew, for his fantastic scones and soups and for believing I could do this again. I will miss all of our loyal customers, staff and friends especially Laura, Hazel and Kiat. It's a fantastic building and I hope whoever takes it over will be as happy as we have been.
If anyone is interested in taking on a ready to go cafe with great space, then pop in, or, if we aren't there, contact Chris at LDC (next door).
Items will be offered for sale from Saturday afternoon onwards.
We are very sad to go but feel it's the right time and if anyone wants to take over they'll get the tourist months in. So, if you see me with a box of tissues next week....you know why! π₯
