The Day After… ❤️
Well… yesterday wasn’t exactly our finest hour.
It turns out that being just one staff member down can create a level of chaos that none of us quite anticipated. Let’s just say we learned a few lessons, drank a lot of coffee, and aged about five years in one afternoon!
To everyone who was affected yesterday, we’re genuinely sorry. We know we didn’t deliver the experience you expect from us, and for that, we apologise. But every setback is a chance to learn, improve, and come back stronger—and that’s exactly what we’ll do.
Now we’ve had our day of negativity, we’d much rather focus on the positives. And thankfully, there are plenty of them.
First and foremost, our incredible team. The staff who go above and beyond every single day, often without recognition, and the new faces who have joined—or will soon be joining—our little work family. We are so lucky to have you all. Your hard work, patience, and dedication never go unnoticed.
To the businesses that have supported us from day one, thank you.
To Clarks Shoes, especially Rachel and Paula, who were among our very first customers. You popped in when things were quiet, encouraged us when we needed it most, and have continued supporting us ever since.
To Faulkners, who have kept us cooking, kept us cool during the summer, and stuck with us through every menu tweak, recipe change, and “great idea” we’ve had along the way—thank you.
To our fantastic local suppliers—Top Farm Enterprises, A Dales Butchers, and Alvingham Coffee—without you we wouldn’t have the freshest salads, the breakfasts our customers love, or the coffee that gets half the town through the morning. We appreciate you more than you know.
And to every small business that has shared a post, recommended us, sent customers our way, or simply cheered us on from the sidelines—thank you.
Running a small business isn’t always easy. Some mornings you wake up wondering what the day will bring. Some days it’s busy, some days it’s quiet, and sometimes a single unexpected hiccup can feel like the end of the world. But we all keep showing up, supporting one another, and pushing forward. So to our fellow small businesses: stay strong. Keep going. We’ve got this.
And finally, to our wonderful customers.
Thank you for coming back, even when we occasionally get things wrong. Thank you for your patience, your kindness, your understanding, and your loyalty. We’re only human. We have good days and bad days, but one thing never changes—we care. We put our hearts into what we do, and when things don’t go to plan, we’re usually thinking about it long after everyone else has moved on.
Your support means everything to us. Quite simply, without you, there is no us.
So here’s to learning, improving, supporting one another, and moving forward together.
And hopefully this week, with a full team and slightly lower stress levels, we’ll only age one year instead of five. ❤️
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts ♥️
