🦇☕ BIG SATURDAY… BUT WITH SIGNIFICANTLY MORE BATMAN.

Apparently today is Batman Day. Now, some cafés might completely ignore such an important cultural occasion.

We are not some cafés. 😂 Ceri and I have therefore taken the entirely sensible decision to honour the Dark Knight in the only appropriate way possible…

By turning up dressed like this. 🦇🤣
Gotham has Batman. Loughborough has two café workers in questionable outfits serving breakfast.

We think we know who got the better deal. 😏

So welcome to BIG BAT-SATURDAY at Café-Ambience!

And before anyone asks… No, the Batmobile isn’t parked outside.... it is actually in Gotham Village right now (until 2:00pm I believe).

Parking in Loughborough town centre is difficult enough without trying to find a space for a 20-foot armoured crime-fighting vehicle. 😂

🍷☕ FRIDAY FEELING — WE’VE MADE IT, PEOPLE. 😂
Friday has arrived, Loughborough — starting reasonably bright before the clouds roll in and things get a little breezy and drizzly later. In other words, excellent café weather.

So before the weekend properly gets going…
☕ Start with coffee.
🥪 Upgrade to lunch.
🍰 Accidentally order cake.
🍷 Then reach that magical point in Friday where ordering a glass of wine no longer requires justification.

That’s basically the Café-Ambience Friday survival plan. ❤️

And with Big Batman Saturday waiting just around the corner, you can always come back tomorrow and do it all again on Batman Day....🦇

Because calories consumed between Friday and Sunday are technically weekend calories. We haven't checked the science. 😂

Good food. Great coffee. Something cold in a glass. And that lovely little feeling that Monday is now somebody else’s problem.

Loughborough Market is up and running, the weather’s doing its slightly unpredictable September thing, and there’s only one sensible strategy…
Shop. Coffee. Shop. Lunch. Possibly cake. 😂

If you’re heading into town today, pop in and see us while you’re wandering.
Start with a proper coffee. ☕

Stay for something tasty. 🥪
Then look at the cake counter and tell yourself:
“I’ve done quite a lot of walking today.” 🍰
We won’t question the mathematics. ❤️

And with Tyler’s big closing-down sale still giving everyone another reason to head into town, you can combine bargain hunting with supporting some of Loughborough’s independents.

After nearly eight brilliant years, Jess and I are looking for the **next owner of Café-Ambience**. And importantly…

**We’re not asking for the earth.** 🌍

We’d much rather find the right person who’ll take what we’ve built, add their own ideas and keep Café-Ambience doing what it does best.

You’re getting an established café with loyal customers, a great little team, Afternoon Teas, private parties, a drinks licence and plenty of potential to grow. ❤️

Oh… and **Bubbles & Bingo.** 🥂🎱 Our last one was completely SOLD OUT, and I’ll personally give the new owner **six months of free Bubbles & Bingo support**.

☕🥓 SURVIVAL MONDAY — WE’VE CHECKED, AND APPARENTLY HIDING UNDER THE DUVET ISN’T A VIABLE LONG-TERM STRATEGY.

Morning, Loughborough. ❤️
It’s Monday. Again. Nobody voted for it, nobody particularly wanted it, but nevertheless here we all are. 😂

Fortunately, Café-Ambience has a tried-and-tested Monday recovery programme:
☕ Stage 1: Coffee. Immediately.
🥓 Stage 2: Add bacon, sausage or a proper breakfast.
☕ Stage 3: Consider another coffee.
🍰 Stage 4: By lunchtime, accept that cake may now be necessary.

And today actually looks pretty decent — a little cloudy with the odd shower possible, but warm and hopefully brightening up. Basically September hasn’t quite decided it’s autumn yet, and we’re perfectly happy not to remind it. 😎

We also checked today’s collection of “special days” and decided against pretending you’ve all been eagerly awaiting Cream-Filled Donut Day. We know our limits. 😂

So forget the gimmicks. Proper coffee. Proper breakfast. Lovely lunches. Homemade cake. Friendly faces. Sometimes Monday just needs Café-Ambience. ❤️

It’s Thursday, Loughborough Market is on AND Tyler’s has its big closing-down sale.
So town could be rather busy with people saying:
“I’m only going in for a quick look.”
Of course you are. 😂

Forty-five minutes later you’ll emerge carrying three bags, something you didn’t know you needed and explaining that “at that price it would’ve been rude not to.”
We understand. ❤️

And after all that bargain hunting, there’s only one sensible next move…
Café-Ambience.
☕ Coffee while you admire your purchases.
🥓 Breakfast if you’re getting in early.
🥪 Paninis, jacket potatoes and lunch when shopping becomes hungry work.
🍰 Cake when you realise how much money you’ve “saved”. 😂

It’s looking reasonably decent around Loughborough this morning too, so get yourself into town, have a wander around the market, take advantage of the Tyler’s sale, support the independents — and come and refuel with us.

🎈🥂 PARTY HERE WEDNESDAY — YOUR HOUSE HAS DONE NOTHING TO DESERVE 40 PARTY GUESTS.

Birthdays, baby showers, anniversaries, family get-togethers, work celebrations… they all start with the same innocent sentence:

“Shall we just have everyone round ours?” And approximately four seconds later you’re calculating chairs, fridge space and whether anybody will notice if you hide the ironing upstairs. 😂

There is another way.... Have it at Café-Ambience. ❤️

🍰🥂 AFTERNOON TEA TUESDAY — because some Tuesdays require more than a sandwich at your desk.

It’s a bit wet and miserable in Loughborough this morning, which feels like the weather equivalent of saying:

“Go somewhere cosy and eat cake.” 😂☔
Who are we to argue? So today we’re championing one of the finest British inventions ever created — Afternoon Tea. ❤️

Sandwiches. Scones. Homemade treats. Cake. Tea.

Essentially, it’s lunch that’s dressed itself up nicely and expects to be photographed. 😂📸 It’s perfect for birthdays, celebrations, catching up with friends… or simply reaching Tuesday and deciding you’ve already done enough adulting for one week.
And if tea alone seems a little too responsible…

Monday has arrived again with all the subtlety of an alarm clock being thrown at your head. 😂

It’s looking a bit grey around Loughborough this morning, but it should brighten up later — which is encouraging, although coffee remains the more reliable option. ☕

So if you’re staring at your computer wondering how it can possibly be Monday again, we prescribe: Proper coffee. Something involving bacon. And approximately 20 minutes where nobody asks you anything. ❤️

Breakfast first.
Problems later.

And because today is apparently National Beer Lovers Day, we should probably acknowledge it. 🍺

Not necessarily with breakfast.
We do have standards.

They’re just considerably lower by Friday. 😂

The sun is shining in Loughborough, it’s Saturday morning and frankly there are far worse ways to begin the weekend than having somebody else cook your breakfast. 😂
So come hungry.

🍳 Proper breakfast
🥓 Plenty of bacon
☕ Coffee strong enough to formulate weekend plans
🥪 Brunch and lunch for the sensible late starters
🍰 And cake for people who understand that Saturday has no rules

BUT… today you need to get in a little earlier than usual.

🎂❤️ WE’LL BE CLOSING AT 3PM TODAY because Café-Ambience is being taken over for a private 90th Birthday Party!

At 90, we reckon you've earned the right to have an entire café to yourself.
In fact, you've probably earned the right to do pretty much whatever you like. 😂❤️

So we’ll be serving all your Saturday favourites until 3pm, then it’s balloons up, bubbles out and time to help somebody celebrate a very special milestone.
