Hey guys.
So just a little update regarding our drain situation.
We have persevered the last month with multiple companies and lovely help from people to address and fix our drains from constantly backing up and not coping with the demand we required.
Starting from the cheapest and easiest options, it slowly progressed onto more expensive solutions, which was eating away at our chance of survival of the business. It was really stressful and really defeating to us as an independent small business, especially when every penny matters. We have lost thousands so far.
We have come to a final attempt at a complete refit of our drainage pipes and system, ultimately costing a lot of money.
This comes with multiple drawbacks, but in the long term, a permanent solution that should (fingers crossed) cause us zero problems going forward and will allow us to operate as a cafe/pub full time.
The biggest drawback is until we can get the work completed, we will be running reduced hours so we can somewhat comply with the reduced/malfunctioning drains.
From 07/07/26 until 16/07/26 these operating hours will be in effect.
CAFE 11AM-4PM
BAR 12PM-4PM
KITCHEN 11AM-3:30PM
If we encounter any drain issues inbetween our opening hours, we will have to close. It’s not our choice but we cannot operate without toilets/drains/sinks/running water etc.
The good side, it is only one week. Providing everything goes to plan and schedule, we will be ready for summer, and we have a lot in plans.
We cannot but thank everybody for supporting us so far and bearing with us this last month with our issues. It means the world supporting us and buying a pint or coffee or maybe some food, really helps us stay open and give back to the community.
