Cornwall, beyond the obvious: beach edition 🏖️
Not every beach day needs watersports and a crowd. Sometimes all you actually need is a towel, a good book, and a stretch of sand (or shingle, each has its place) where the loudest thing you’ll hear is the tide and the only traffic you’ll encounter is the bobbing of a boat passing through. There’s a heatwave on the horizon; here’s where we’d spend it:
📍 Talland Bay Beach
This one’s so close, you could probably make it down with most of your morning coffee still in your cup. It’s a favourite for morning dips, rockpooling (you’re never too old) and doing absolutely nothing at all but enjoy your front row seat to the bay’s ever-changing views.
📍 Rotterdam Beach
Tiny, tucked away and blissfully quiet. Blink and you might miss it...but that’s exactly why we locals love it.
📍 Hannafore Beach
A little wilder than Looe’s main beach, with rockpools, views across to Looe Island and plenty of room for a slow, salty wander.
📍 Lansallos Cove
Further west but worth the effort. This is one for the walkers and the smugglers-at-heart, thanks to its chequered past as a hiding place for contraband.
📍 Lantic Bay
It isn’t exactly effortless - there’s a climb involved, and you will feel it on the way back up - but Lantic Bay is beautiful enough to make everyone conveniently forget that part.
Which are you starting with this summer?
