If you’re new here, a proper introduction. 🤍

Darlish started in St Albans, after our founder Laura couldn’t find the kind of ice cream she actually wanted to eat, the kind built on the flavours she grew up around, like saffron, rose and pistachio. So she started making it herself. First in her kitchen, then from a cart at markets, then the first shop.

What began as something quite small has grown into a handful of parlours across London and Hertfordshire, but the idea behind it hasn’t changed. Proper ingredients, small batches, Persian roots, nothing overcomplicated.

Darlish Spitalfields is nestled inside the Bishopsgate Institute, a stunning Victorian building that has been at the heart of this community since 1895. Scan the QR code on our tables to learn more about our incredible home, including its founding as a home for adult learning and curiosity, its beautiful architecture, a packed programme of events and talks, and an extraordinary archive documenting the social history of London, one extraordinary ordinary person at a time.
