Wednesday nights starting next week, 22nd July, and running til the end of August, we're doing a special à la carte suya menu in the restaurant. Following the tradition of northern Nigerian outdoor grills you can expect lots of delicious meats and fish cooked over charcoal, spicy deep fried things, and a great selection of sides. Visit the website to see a sample menu, and to book.

Please note, the menu is pescatarian-friendly but - as the focus is on the suya tradition - we won't have enough to offer vegetarians, sorry!

NEW on our cocktail menu is Push Me I Push You, developed in collaboration with Pedro's and Atelier Pip - two cocktails in one, and two different ways to experience the flavours of Lola Pedro's unique ògógóró. The short drink gives more flavour of the spirit, while the long drink is more refreshing, with a grapefruit salt rim for bite.

Ògógóró has many nicknames in West Africa, reflecting both its past reputation as something illicit (like akpeteshie meaning "the act of hiding") and also its reputation for starting arguments - like Push Me I Push You.

Our lunch dessert is an aridan crème caramel with aridan syrup and plantain three ways (plantain crisps, plantain crumble, plantain jam).

Aridan is a dried tree fruit pod, also known as aidan fruit, prekeshie, or four corners (because it's an angular looking thing!), and it gives gorgeous flavours of brown butter and toffee.

Last month we had a little glow-up at the restaurant: new tables (with Nsibidi inscriptions in each one), larger tables, more space, new fabrics, new lighting and a couple more decorative features. We can now configure the ground floor into a single table seating 18 - this can be booked directly through the website under the 'exclusive hire' tab on our Reservations page. Finally we put some lovely fabrics on the walls of our downstairs alcove table to make it feel more cosy, and added a screen for a bit more privacy.

Last night's collab dinner with of was so much fun, using produce from Wilsons farm and the bakery. The team's favourite dish was probably the scallop with onion & bombini broth, uda oil and egusi pesto, but there were too many to count.
