In 2014, the Green Dragon pub in Winchmore Hill closed its doors after almost 300 years of history. But that wasn't the end of the story. The Little Green Dragon Ale House opened in August 2017: a community-focussed "micropub" going back to the basics of good beer and conversation. No slot machines, no loud music, no TV screens. How often do you see a brass band at the Little Green Dragon? (or any pub for that matter)

Come down this Sunday (19th July) to see the LGD Brass Band in action! They've been rehearsing hard on some favourite tunes, and they will be starting at 3.30pm.

Please bring some cash as the jug collection will be for 2nd Enfield Boys Brigade.

This Wednesday evening, Vic Newman will be playing at the Little Green Dragon from 7.30pm to raise money for Noah's Ark Children's Hospice.

Rumour has it that there's some football on that evening, so we might be a bit quieter than usual. If you're not watching the football then please do try and come down and support Vic. Last night we had an amazing Meet the Brewer evening presented by Peter Kennelly of Pillars Brewery.

We tasted 4 different lagers, plus a special one!

If you missed last night's event, all is not lost, we will be pouring Pillars Helles and Pilsner from our taps tonight, plus a selection of their bottled beers in the fridge.

Manny Fizzotti, one of the busiest artists on the London blues scene, graduated “with honours” at the Guitar Institute of Technology in Los Angeles, where he also worked with Mike Carnevale (sound engineer for Eric Clapton, Greg Allman, Jeff Beck and Keith Richards) and performed at world famous blues clubs such as Harvelle’s.

Yesterday evening was our 28th Meet the Brewer, since our first one in 2018. Although the formula hasn't changed much over the years, each event is different and each brewer has their own unique story to tell.
That was especially true last night when we welcomed Beyond Belief Brewing who produce beers from surplus food. We tasted and learned about a pale ale made from surplus pasta (essentially the unavoidable "offcuts" from the pasta making process), an IPA made using surplus bread, a lemony beer made from surplus fondant fancies and finally a beer brewed in Ghana using surplus rice and mangoes (over 70% of Ghanaian mangoes are wasted every year, largely due to being not perfect enough for western supermarkets).
An interesting evening, thanks to Freddie and Megan!
