Cod and haddock usually get all the attention… but plaice deserves a spot in your order too 👀

Delicate, slightly richer and with a naturally sweeter flavour, it might just become your new fish & chip favourite.

Next time you’re on Essex Road, give it a try and let us know what you think.

Nothing beats seeing a happy customer leave with a smile 🙌
A quick stop at Battered Twist, a little chat at the counter, and apparently a very important pickle too 😂🥒
It’s moments like these that make the busy days worth it. Thank you to everyone who keeps coming back and supporting your local fish & chip shop ❤️

If you always go straight for cod, this might be the one to change your order 👀🐟

Our homemade fish cakes are made with a variety of fish, mixed with herbs, shaped by hand and coated in breadcrumbs before being cooked until golden and crispy.
Crispy on the outside, comforting in the middle — and a great choice when you fancy something a little different from your usual fillet of fish.
Have you tried one yet?

A little freshen-up for Battered Twist 👀
Over the summer, we gave our Essex Road shop a new look — cleaner, brighter and ready for plenty more fish & chips.
Same Battered Twist, same freshly cooked food, just with a refreshed space to enjoy it in.
