Developing two distinct bathroom schemes simultaneously is a wonderful exercise in balancing continuity and character throughout a home. We began with a clear initial inspiration, pairing a fluted wood vanity and classic marble with vibrant, botanical patterned tiles.

To bring this vision to life, we are keeping the foundational patterns and textures identical across both rooms but shifting the color tones to give each space its own subtle personality. One bathroom will feature serene, cool blue tones, while the other steps into a moodier palette of rich forest and sage greens. Both are grounded by a beautiful terracotta base and soft terrazzo, ensuring both spaces feel cohesive, warm, and practical for everyday use.

Gathering a few favorite elements on the work table today to explore a new palette for a current project. When designing a cohesive room, it is just as important to think about the texture of the walls and the tone of the metal hardware as it is the paint color itself.

We are looking at a wonderful mix of textured wallcovering from Phillip Jeffries, warm metal finishes from Visual Comfort, a classic herringbone weave, and a crisp background with Mylands paint. It is a very practical, rewarding process to see how these small swatches begin to establish the true character and comfort of a space.

A look at the work in progress today. While drawings and plans are essential, the real decision-making happens when you hold the material samples in your hands to see how they actually work together. We are currently leaning toward a wonderful combination of warm oak and clean, understated neutrals for this kitchen project.
