So I came into work after a day off to find that our little free library had new books added, and some old ones have officially been swapped out. I’m absolutely delighted that people are actually using it! Thankyou to everyone who has made donations so far. It’s much appreciated and a great way to ensure readers are able to recycle their used books and they can go to someone else who also enjoys the hobby.

Just an FYI, they aren’t displayed but we do also have a box of more teenage and child appropriate literature so if you do have any kids that like to read you are welcome to pop by and ask to see the collection ☺️

Yesterday I asked if anyone would be interested in a ‘Little Free Library’ in the Spring Community Cafe to give readers the opportunity to book swap for their next read. I was absolutely overwhelmed by the amount of people that said they loved the idea, so I knew I had to make it happen immediately!

So, introducing our new ‘Little Free Library’!! Bring a book, swap a book and never run out of reading material!!! It’s not perfect, but the set up will be upgraded as and when it becomes popular.

Side note; these are all books I gave personally donated so I appreciate that they may not be for everyone so if anyone does have books they would be happy to donate we would massively appreciate it!!!

Just wanted some opinions and to see if this is potentially something that people would be interested in…

I was considering starting up a “little free library” concept at the cafe. The idea is that the cafe will have a case filled with books that are available for customers (or whoever is interested) to swap a book of their own with. So you will come to the cafe with your book, browse our selection and swap your own book for one of ours so the next person has a new selection to choose from. Is this something that could be of interest to readers in the area?

Our knit and natter will be returning this Friday (28th August) at the spring community cafe in Saint George’s health and wellbeing hub. Hosted by one of our wonderful volunteers. This is an opportunity to meet new people, gain new skills and have fun! All you need to bring is yourself!! All equipment is included and the session is completely free to whoever may be interested.

We are starting at 10am to 12pm but feel free to arrive or leave whenever suits you :) we hope to see you there!!
