Little Chefs Club is a fun, hands-on cooking experience designed especially for children aged 5 and up.

In a warm, encouraging environment, kids learn to prepare simple, age-appropriate recipes while building confidence, creativity, and basic kitchen skills.

Each session focuses on teamwork, safety, and enjoyment—no pressure, just lots of smiles, mixing, and tasting!
Perfect for young food lovers who want to explore cooking, try new foods, and feel proud of what they create.

Yes, it is officially Autumn 🍂 which means it is peak chutney season.

Spiced Green Tomatoes and Quince is our favorite....
This year we added some apple, pear and rhubarb to our existing recipe 😋

The secret to good chutney is a slow, patient simmer that lets the vinegar, sugar, and spices melt into a thick, jammy paste.

You cannot rush a chutney so allow few hours.

All produce picked from our community garden and prepared by our volunteers.
The jars are available at our caffe shop Thursday to Sunday.

Which one is your favorite chutney flavour?

Tromboncino - You’ve all heard by now thanks to 😉 but we have been growing the tasty squash for many years at garden.

Not only are they easy to grow but they’re vigorous, tasty and nutritious.

They make great side dish simply sliced and roasted or diced and added to a vegetable frittata.
The flavour is sweet and nutty.
Tromboncino can be added well to a curry, tagine or stew.
We make yummy Tromboncino soup available at our community cafe.

This year we have grown the biggest Tromboncino long 1.27m maybe next year we can challenge Kevin from the (his Tromboncino was 1.48m long) amazing 👏

Have you grown tromboncinos?
Next year.... let's grow together 💚

We eventually all drink the water that is in our rivers.

The water is pumped out of rivers into cleaning plants, cleaned and then sent to our homes.

The more pollution we dump into rivers, the more likely our tap water will also contain contaminants after cleaning. Microplastics, for instance are very hard to remove!
