NOT QUITE A GOODBYE 🧡 So I didn't think it would be quite as difficult to write this message as it turning out to be, but I'll try and keep it fairly short(ish).
Times are hard, we all know this. But having been doing what we do for almost 6 years we have set a standard for ourselves that I personally couldn't be more proud of. However with rising costs, huge staffing issues, and much economic uncertainty ahead I just do not see a way for us to do what we do, to the level we want to do it. It's with that in mind that I have taken the decision to close our doors for the foreseeable future.
It's not a decision I have taken lightly, but I would rather close as one of the best cafes in East London, than watch us hike prices, struggle for staff, and face daily battles to keep standards high.
As I said, it's not quite a goodbye. It's a much needed break to figure out how we move forward.
I will definitely post an emotional thank you at a later point, but if you want to see me cry in person our last day is THIS FRIDAY. 30th September. Rumour has it karaoke is back for a final appearance before closing time.
