A secret dining club in a secret Chelsea location, presenting unique Euro-Japanese dining in an info it's just like that.

Just imagine you come to someone's dinner party and you meet new people and enjoy chatting and dining with other guests at the same table. Your evening begins by taking your shoes off to enter this petit Chelsea apartment. You will be served a refreshing cocktail or a straightforward sparkling wine, mingling with other guests. We don't take large group bookings as it would dominate too much - but

we will do special events or private dining. The food served in Salon Japon is a mixture of my mum's recipes and my interpretation of something that I may have had - or still enjoy - in my parents house in Tokyo and/or something I have had in my works as food, lifestyle journalist and coordinator - the food in Salon Japon is largely influenced by French, Italian, a bit of Spanish & Portuguese with a twist of other Asian cuisines. Not typically Japanese you may think, but in fact eating a variety of dishes from different cuisines in one meal is very much in Japanese home style and it is not 'fusion'. We ask our guests to arrive between 7:45pm and 8pm - this is mingling time. Please do not come before 7:45pm as you can imagine, the chef and the staff will be running around like headless chickens preparing the most delectable atmosphere for you! Please come and join us!

Set lunch in the greasy spoon style cafe on the coast of Japan - only 45 mins drive from Tokyo. The tray contains deep fried golden sea mackerel, freshly prepared sashimi of the day's catch and bits and bobs, and it costs only about £8. Joke!
