On one of the hottest June evenings in living memory, Kings, Queens & Rascals gathered once again at the King & Queen in London for a wonderfully warm night of live music — in every sense of the word.
We were treated to performances from Martin Woodford & Joe, alongside two exceptional young singer-songwriters, Mungo Parker and Gideon Knight. The atmosphere was perfect for a sultry London evening, with thoughtful songs, beautiful melodies and performances full of sensitivity and confidence.
A special mention goes to Gideon, playing his very first gig and bringing along what seemed to be almost his entire family to support him — and what a debut it was. Both Gideon and Mungo showed remarkable maturity and talent for their age, delivering songs and performances that captivated the room.
As the night wore on, the venue became boiling, and despite a few heat-induced equipment gremlins, the performers and audience took it all in their stride. Thank you to everyone who came along and stayed with us through the rising temperatures to support live music and these talented artists.
The evening was rounded off in fine style with an energetic set from house band The Rascals, sending everyone home smiling and sweaty in equal measure.
We’ll be back again soon. Follow this page and our other channels for news of upcoming events — we look forward to seeing you there.
