What is The Write Space?
Well, currently it's still a dream, but, 'when' it becomes reality it will be a space, not a cafe, not an office and not a library ...but a combination of the best bits of all three.
Somewhere for writers (or anyone with writing to do) to write ..with tables and chairs, and the odd comfy sofa ... free tea (or coffee, or chocolate) and cake (or biscuits .. or a bowl of cereal) ... shelves full of books for inspiration, and like minded people to share ideas with.
And then downstairs, there's a space for courses ...some weekly, some just for day ...some instructional, to help you develop you writing and build confidence ...some collaborative, workshop style, for sharing work in a safe, supportive group.
Some for young people, to help grow a life long love of literature ...some for older people, to capture memoirs and record lives ... some for newcomers, to share experiences and try make sense of this crazy language that is English ... some for those preparing for their next step ... developing forgotten skills and finding new directions.
