It was the right thing for the government to mandate not going to restaurants yesterday for our collective good. These are testing times and we all need to stand together to get through this period. Our hearts go out to those affected by this virus and our thoughts are with those in the NHS and on the front lines (which includes our tireless supermarket teams who face hordes of people every day).

We have thought long and hard about what to do next and have taken the decision to close our Kensington restaurant with immediate effect for the foreseeable future. We would like to say a huge thank you to all our loyal guests and visitors from around the world since we opened in 2014. We'll be back when the situation passes for more lovely Lebanese delights.

Keep safe out there. Respect the rules. Apply social distancing. Help each other where you can and it's safe to do so. Phone a friend. We can do this.

The number of vegans in Britain more than doubled to 600,000 between 2016 and last year, according to surveys commissioned by the Vegan Society.

More than 800,000 people cut back on eating animal products for at least a month last year, contributing to a steep fall in sales of red meat, research shows. Those moving towards a vegan diet for...

Let's talk about Dry January. Last year, it was revealed than an extra 1.1 million people planned to give up alcohol in the first month of the year, however this failed to make a dent in sales of alcohol, with Kantar figures showing a 10% rise in sales during January.

After lunch with the French President, Maxime Toubart, chairman of the Champagne winegrowers’ association and co-chairman of the Champagne marketing board, told Vitisphere that Macron was opposed to the idea of a booze-free January.
