This is me. Soulla and founder of The Moreish Club. Ive been I guess what we can call a home baker for 20 years now.
I had never planned to become a baker but always did enjoy baking for friends and family. I regularly spoiled work colleagues with new creations and new found recipes when I worked as an Assistant manager in a beauty salon, which I did for a good 10 years.
Then, kids came along and then I guess that's when my baking took to new levels. Being stuck at home (which i loved) I decided to try baking as an extra income to have my own money. Well it took off like I couldn't believe!! All friends and family were ready to support my little business Cakes by Soulla. I then took it further cake sales, fares, cafes and restaurant sales, exhibitions. I did it all. Even appearing a couple of times in Good Food Magazine. My little claim to fame lol.
Then came an opportunity that I didn't expect. The chance to run my own café!!! The dream or so I've thought. For the 3 months i worked tirelessly promoting, baking, neglecting my kids all for this little cafe...then covid hit. From a cafe with no business to a bustling business to then bang closed doors I needed a new strategy. I then started doing covid friendly deliveries to keep the sales and cafe running. Cake deliveries, afternoon tea deliveries. All were super popular during covid and definitely helped myself and my customers feel "normal" during the time. Actually a huge success. Then came the devastating news- the owner of the cafe decided to sell up and my café dream was snatched away just like that. With no café to run i then decided to work a regular job in hospitality.
I absolutely have loved loved loved my time in hospitality, meeting new people, serving amazing food but now its time to return back to my passion, my love, my craft- hence the birth of The Moreish Club. Its now time to make history once again and create something super special.
If youve reached the end thank you for reading my story in brief and Welcome to The Moreish Club, its gonna be a fun and entertaining ride.
