Today we’re taking a pause (Sunday 28th June)

After a tough week of heat on Market Square, we’re closing for the day to recover.

We’ll be back on Tuesday doing what we love.

Not just making coffee, but helping start the week a little better. The kind of flat white that makes mornings feel manageable. The excuse to take the long way through the market. The five-minute reset before the day begins.

We don’t share our story often enough.

The Green Bee started with two best friends, a small green coffee truck and a belief that our local high road deserved great specialty coffee.

Since opening, we’ve been fortunate enough to become part of something much bigger than we imagined. From creating a community hub under the bandstand at the heart of Enfield Market to working with fantastic local suppliers and meeting people from all over the world, it’s been an incredible journey.

Like every independent business, there have been challenges along the way. But the support we’ve received from our customers and community has made all the difference.
If you’ve enjoyed a coffee, matcha, pastry or simply a chat with us over the last couple of years, we’d be incredibly grateful for your vote.

Getting to see the thousands of little details that once only existed in your head slowly become reality is a strange feeling.

You spend months wondering if it will all come together at all.

Is the bandstand too hidden?
Will the colours work?
Can we actually fit everything inside the van?
Will anyone care enough to come back?

Before opening, the days feel very long. Every small decision feels huge.

But as we approach 20 months of The Green Bee, one thing we’ve realised is this: the years move fast.

What once felt impossible slowly becomes routine. The early mornings, the workflow tweaks, the familiar faces, the little community that builds around you.

To anyone thinking about giving something a go… start before you feel fully ready.

You’ll figure more out in the doing than in the planning 💚

5 things no one really tells you about running a coffee truck:

1. The weather can test you! One week can make you question everything. The next reminds you exactly why you started.

2. You can’t be everything to everyone.
Trying to do too much usually waters down what makes you special. Better to do a few things really well.

3. Consistency and care matter more than people realise. In a world full of choice, showing up properly every day is one of the most valuable things a small business can do.

4. Your community really does carry you.
People back people. And when you build something honestly, your community often supports you in ways you never forget.

5. Resilience is part of the job. Not every day, week, or month moves in a straight line. Sometimes progress looks messy. You learn to keep going anyway.

Part hospitality, part logistics, part resilience, and part delusion. But we wouldn’t have it any other way 💚
