💛 A little Saturday update…
We’re sorry, but we’ll be closing a little earlier than usual this Saturday. It’s been a pretty emotional time for us all, and I think we’re all feeling a little bit tired and in need of some rest.
Thank you, as always, for being so understanding and supportive it really does mean so much. 🫶
We’ll still be open from 8am for all your coffee ☕️, cakes 🍰, pastries 🥐 and hot food needs! Come down, say hi and see us before we head off for a well-earned rest. ❤️

On 24th September our little shop turns 13 years old!! We are so proud of the amazing community we have built over the years, and especially after all the love and support we’ve had in the last few weeks at what has been an impossibly difficult time for all of us

25th September also happens to be the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning. As a charity that was so invaluable to mum it only seems right that we use this as an opportunity to celebrate the shop, celebrate Frankie and raise important funds for a great charity. We’ll be donating £1 for every piece of cake sold, so please join us for coffee and cake and to raise a mug to our lovely Frankie 💚

Thank you for all your kindness and support the last couple of weeks. We are truly grateful to this lovely community we get to be apart of. Mum loved chatting (and flirting!) away in the shop and we loved chatting about all the funny things over the years - she still refused to make a coffee though!

And a special shout out to Deborah and Georgia who have been opening up, baking, locking up, working all week long and all the bits in between. A two woman shift on a busy Friday, and they handled it like pros. The shop was in safe hands and it gave us so much time to sit and chat to mum. Words can’t explain how grateful I am, you guys are incredible!

We will be closing on Monday, mainly out of pure exhaustion, and please keep an eye out for any other changes to the running of things for a while, but as mum would always say, the show must go on! Just please don’t be too nice to me in the shop, and strictly no hugs for a while 😂

It is with a ridiculously heavy heart that I have to share the news of my lovely mama Frankie’s passing. Words will never be able to describe the icon that is Mama G, but I’m sure if you’ve been in to the shop you’ve seen glimmers of her charm. She was unapologetically herself, full of love and silliness and my best friend.

Yesterday, she lost her long battle against cancer. Most of you probably didn’t even know she had it, because she handled her journey with integrity, dignity and class, not wanting to make a fuss, and as always, caring more about us. She also didn’t take a day off at all, maybe the occasional Saturday shift after a Friday Chemo session!

A loving wife (45 years together can you believe it!), a fiercely protective mama bear to her babies (Myself and Spike), a caring mother in law to Raphel and Sam, stupidly fun nanny to our 4 grandbabies and the ultimate rude girl, we all love you so much. Nothing more, nothing less, Frankie’s the best 🩷

We are so grateful for the love and support from everyone who cared about Mum. Because this is such a difficult and tender time for us, we ask for a little breathing room and grace while we grieve privately, and kindly request that conversations around this are kept to a minimum for now. We appreciate your patience and love more than words can say.
