E17 Pop Up Restaurant Project will explore World Cuisine with skilled chefs invited to cook some of their favourite meals for you.

Each fortnight we will be organising a Popup Restaurant in Walthamstow! Our initial line up will feature amazing food from Eritrea, Tibet, Szechuan, Louisiana, Mexico, Canton, Cambodia and Morocco. E17 Pop Up Project has been set up to bring exciting cuisine and authentic flavours from around the World to Walthamstow. Members of our meetup group get the first chance to secure a table and also be i

nformed of any special offers first! Booking will be required for each event and tables are limited so we encourage diners to book early. Luckily, group members will be given advance notice to book a table and access to exclusive news and offers!

Charity Dinner for Nepal Monday // 11 May 2015

We are holding a Charity Dinner to raise funds for the Nepal Earthquake disaster.

Our Nepali dinner is being created by Waltham Forest resident Nepali chef Deepka with support from the Tibetan Community in Walthamstow. All proceeds will be going to those affected. To maximise the amount raised, the chefs and myself and also all serving staff and kitchen assistants be volunteering free for this Charity Dinner.

With over 6,000 people killed and the number growing as whole villages are flattened and in desperate need of aid. Friends are reporting over 100 aftershocks and with each one comes further damage. So begins our efforts as a community to raise money and support for the people affected by the earthquakes.

Last Chance to catch up with this Amazing Chef!

Having worked in top-end Michelin star restaurants the exquisite flavours and attention to detail has had our regulars booking again and again.

The last five popups had over 80 of you booking for each event and selling out in record time. I think the quickest was 85 tickets sold in 9 hours.

Suffice to say, his new menu is once again going to be amazing so we hope to see you there!

Starters
Mixed Mezze
Arnabeet Mekli- Cauliflower roasted until crisp with drizzled with tahini and lemon juice Dressing
Houmous- home made whipped until light in the traditional way
Tabbouleh- super fresh parsley and mint salad, dressed with bulgar wheat and olive oil served on baby gem leaf
Raqaqat- Layers of filo pastry rich with butter rolled into a 'cigar' shape filled with halloumi and fresh herbs

SERVED WITH bread, pickles and olives.



Main
Crispy Lamb Sharwarma
Lamb shoulder marinated overnight and slow cooked for 6 hours, so tender it is pulled apart and finished in the pan with pomegranate molasses and sumac on Baba Ghanouj- aubergine, garlic, tahini and lemon.

Accompanied by Loub B'Zeit- green beans cooked with tomatoes and onions and Batata Harra- crispy spicy potatoes garnished with coriander.

E17 Popup Restaurant Project

We are soon to be opening up a Board Game Community Space Cafe just opposite the new cinema building site in Walthamstow
(Hoe St Central, Unit 3 Central Parafe, Hoe St, Wathamstow, E17 4RT)

We will be serving delicious Colombian coffee, Empanadas, Arepas, Ceviche, Colombian snacks, and smoothies.

A number of board games (currently we have 194 board games!) will be available throughout the day for people to enjoy.
The idea is to bring the community together through play. Experienced players will be on hand to demonstrate the game and help new players.

We also hope that there will be regular events suitable for adults and families throughout the week

eg, knitting classes, book clubs, craft sessions with local craft makers, yoga classes, baby massage, different types of classes eg palmistry, Painting, Films, Language classes.
The idea is to bring the community together through learning and play.

If you or someone you know would like to run an event or class or series of events, please contact us!
Space Hire is FREE!

Initially it will be a popup shop lasting 3 weeks from Mon 6th to Sun 26th October, but if successful we might open a permanent cafe community space.

Also a part of the Cafe will be dedicated to showcase local designer / makers / artists.
