🔥 DUSTY DINNER x ABBY LEE 🔥

We’ve been waiting for this one. For one night only, we’re welcoming the brilliant Abby Lee, creator of Mambow, into the bakery for a proper feast.

Mambow is an exploration of Malaysia’s huge and diverse regional cuisine, but for this dinner Abby is going back to her roots, cooking a home-style Nyonya feast — Chinese-Malay cooking inspired by the food she grew up around.

Born in Singapore to Malaysian parents, Abby grew up watching her grandma cook and eating coconut pancakes and wonton noodles. Her cooking journey has taken her from Michelin-starred kitchens in Italy to Peckham Market and eventually to Mambow’s permanent home in Clapton.

Mambow has since picked up a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand and a serious stack of industry recognition, including being named one of the UK’s Top New Restaurants and #1 restaurant in London by Time Out. Boom!

This is going to be a proper one.

🚨 TDK has gone through a mini expansion..!

Yo gang, you may have noticed our pastry offering has been in flux recently. Good reason for this: we’ve been busy building ourselves a brand new pastry section.

It’s a space with a tonne of potential, just above the Dalston shop. Give em a shout and they might chuck you down a morning bun.

We’re excited about this! Good to see the gaff still growing as we become that little bit older. New space + bigger crew = we can ensure our output stays fun and spunky. Some exciting experiments ahead (non-spunky ones)…

Massive shout out to our pastry team who had to shift their ops to a rather bleak production unit over summer. Welcome home. Can’t wait to steal your pain au chocolate bars and get shouted at.

Our range is back on deck in its entirety. Feta swirls, orange and poppy, filled croissants and cookies, it’s all there for you.

Busy round the shaping table making you London’s best bread. Yesterday we did 1.6 tonnes of the stuff. That’s 4+ hours of shaping by a team of 8+ bakers. Not easy stuff but we keep the tunes blazing and the tea sweet and milky.

Come to any of our sites to pick up a loaf and make sure you snag a loyalty card too. Get 9 loaves and the 10th is on us cause we like you like that.

Next up on SATURDAY 26TH SEPTEMBER we’ve got the lovely Filippo from PASSIONE VINO taking over the w**e list in Harringay.

This one’s a bit special. Passione Vino are our new regular w**e supplier at Harringay, so we thought what better way to launch the new list than popping some bottles and having a proper night of it.

They import Italian w**e from small, independent and artisanal producers, working with over 90 growers across Italy. Forget the usual suspects — these guys go looking for the weird, wonderful and properly good stuff hiding in the corners of the Italian w**e map.

They’ll be pouring some of their favourites by the glass and bottle while we fire up the pizza oven.

New w**e list. Same banging Pizza. What more do you want from a Saturday night bruv?

BIG NEWS. DUSTY DINNERS IS BACK!

We’re buzzing to welcome best-selling author Nargisse Benkabbou nargisse benkabbou into the bakery for a one-night-only DUSTY DINNER.

Nargisse has spent her career celebrating the food of Morocco in a fresh and modern way. From training at Leiths and running pop-ups to becoming executive chef at the Marrakech institution L’Mida, she’s now getting ready to open the doors to her first solo project, LADEED — meaning “delicious” in Moroccan Arabic.

Before LADEED opens, she’s coming to DK to serve up a proper Moroccan feast. Think long tables, big tasty plates and warm flatbread all served up in the middle of the night bake.

And because we’re greedy, we’re also cooking up a pastry collab with Nargisse that’ll be landing in the bakery for a limited time. Announcement soon! 😀
