Sadly there won’t be any of scenes at Bonnie Gull this summer. After careful consideration we have decided to keep the restaurant shuttered for the time being with a re-opening currently scheduled for early 2021.
These are incredibly tough times for our industry and despite the government’s recent incentives (which we applaud) for those of us based in predominantly business districts, the overriding issue remains that without people returning to offices we don’t have a sufficient customer base to trade profitably.
This pandemic affects every business in a different way and re-defines the criteria of a ‘good location’. It is our hope that the long term outcome of all of this is a fairer platform for the industry with an adjustment of rents and rates and the balance of power between landlords and tenants.
To our loyal customers thank you for your messages of support throughout the lockdown and we hope to see you again in 2021. Until then please support your favourite restaurants and keep eating fresh, local fish and seafood - it’s good for your physical and mental health.xx
