Dear Mirthers, Maudsters and the good people of Walthamstow.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that the 4th January will be our last day of trading.

What a ride. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the most wonderful journey that we have enjoyed together since we brought life back to this old thing. We hope you will treasure some fond memories shared. From dancing your little socks off (as best you could) on our sloped cinema floor, to enjoying kids theatre and world class jazz with a roast. We can’t begin to try and list the talent that has passed through these walls during our time….local, international, undiscovered, established. We’re not sure of a genre left unexplored.

And to the staff who came and went, and those here throughout, we thank you for your hard work, energy and beautiful cocktails. We brought Mirth back to the EMD and in so doing have set the bar for the next chapter.

We wish Waltham Forest Council and all their partners the best of luck with tending the seed that has been planted.

And so, adieu, and we love you Walthamstow.

Please join us for one last hurrah on Saturday 4th and raise a toast to the beast that was MM&M.
