🍃🍻 Hop Harvest Season is here, and that can only mean one thing - Fresh Hop Beer! 🍻 🍃
If you grow hops in your garden or allotment, we’d love for you to be a part of the most local & unique beer of the year.

Bring your hops into the Taproom between 9th-13th September and they’ll go into our 2026 Fresh Hop Brew. In return for your donation you’ll get:
✅ Your name on the can label
✅ An invite to our exclusive First Pour Event
✅ Free Beer

There’s other ways to get involved! We’re taking in apple donations this weekend to make a beer with your apples. A truly unique beer style that’s hyper local.
✅ eating or cooking apples
✅ windfalls (in decent nick)
❌ no rotten fruit, pears, or other fruit please!

Harvest season is one of our favourite times of the year and we can’t wait for you to be involved.

FINAL DAY — SUNDAY AT SOUTHEY.

We’re into the last day of our 10th Birthday Festival.
If you haven’t made it down yet, there’s still plenty to come this afternoon and evening:

ROAST POTATOES & GRAVY — 2–8PM
Exactly what it says on the tin.

Live Music!

CEOLINI — 3:30PM
DARREN HAYMAN — 5:30PM
THE REPEELERS — 7:30PM

The bar is open throughout, so come down for a pint, something to eat and the last of the weekend’s live music.
It’s been ten years of brewing in Penge, and we’d quite like to finish the birthday weekend with a full taproom.

Do you have an apple surplus this year? 🍎🍏

That’s right! We’re once again looking for apple donations to make a truly special one of a kind brew 🍺

Our Graf project has become a firm favourite of the autumn brew schedule and the final product is different every year! And we are so excited to see what this year brings.

So if you have some apples that you’d like to donate, please drop them by our Penge Brewery & Taproom between Tuesday 1st September and Sunday 6th September.

All apples are accepted, including windfall. Help us to not only reduce food waste but create a truly innovative beer 🍻

📣 (re) introducing A Hoi! Our sixth (we can’t believe we’re in the last half of this project) from our Ten Beers for Ten Years.

We promise it did go on tap in July! Just a little late posting about it.

🍻 A Vietnamese style lager - utilising rice in the mash process. Which gives the beer itself a dry and crisp profile, and a much lighter body than a pilsner.
The use of rice in brewing is not new, added by Japanese Brewers out of necessity due to limited barley availability.

☀️ it’s the perfect pint for summer, pouring now at our Penge Taproom.

See you at the bar.

📣 (re) introducing Flashman’s Pale!
The fifth beer from our Ten Beers for Ten Years Project and the very first on cask!

🗓️ firstly, we know it’s July, and we’re sorry it’s late! Turns out planning & hosting a Beer & Music Festival takes up a fair amount of time. So today is June 37th…

🍻 This recipe is deep from the Southey archives… Named after Mr Lawrence’s restaurant - Flashman’s - that he owned and operated in the late 1980s in Dulwich.

However the recipe is older than that! Based off a Fuller’s recipe from the 1940s. Maize & extra sugar, in our case Golden Syrup is used to boost the alcohol content when ingredients were scarce due to rationing (and war)…

The use of additional sugars elevates the dryness of the beer on the palate. Expect a perfectly light and quaffable pale ale 🍺

🗓️ Pouring now at our Penge Taproom.

Get your stamp before it’s gone!
