Chesham Arms

Chesham Arms Award-winning Hackney Central pub. Featuring real ales, local beer, fine wines and spirits. Big beer garden in the summer, cosy fireplaces for the winter.

Good vibes all year round. On the 1st July 2015, The Chesham Arms Public House, just through the church yard by Hackney Central will re-open its doors in the latest instalment of London’s thriving pub scene after undergoing a major renovation from owner Andy Bird to restore the 150-year-old building to its former glory. The public house was subject to a lengthy court battle with the hard work of l

ocal residents & Hackney council fighting it out to prevent the site being lost to flats. And the new owner has vowed to showcase the finest of East London tastes and flavours with a thirst quenching array of London-centric real ales, award winning local beers, french wines and a huge specialist gin selection. At the epicentre of the London brewing scene expect to see some familiar names on the ever changing beer board. For the last three months it has been through a spectacular refurbishment inside & out. (www.instagram.com/cheshamarms) and once inside you’ll see, hear and feel the good times that this pearl of Hackney has to offer. The transformation sees a reclaimed vintage ash bar-top recycled alongside many old features, some original victorian wallpaper uncovered in the refurb. And a beautiful restored original wooden floor, which won the day over a internal battle between 60s carpeting. With a large south facing beer garden for the summer, and two working fireplaces for those long winter nights. The new exterior bringing this vibrant space that is entrenched in history, in line with some of London’s finest traditional pubs. Developments locally will see the area becoming the hub of East London fashion with a major regeneration project already happening to the arches at the rear of the pub that will create a new focal point for UK fashion in the heart of London's East End. The south-facing garden will see the community enjoying weekly BBQ’s, a menu with house smoked meats, and sausage platter selection for the hearty beer drinker losing long summer days to this magical garden space. The newly re-furbished site will cater for all – be it the after work fashion crowd, beer and ale connoisseurs, but most importantly it will be at the heart of the Hackney community built upon the foundations of the historic building.
