Feeling very grateful tonight for the teaching I’ve received from our little parklet of plants on Staplehurst Road. It’s been a journey for me .. from a place of resistance, disappointment and disempowerment through understanding, acceptance and action to creation. I had no idea this journey was going to happen, it played out as all the best moments do .. unexpectedly, with Grace and in its own time. I’ve learned to take responsibility for a space that was waiting for me to engage. It’s taught me that every space is sacred. If I bring my attention to it and my love to it as a daily practice.. I receive back ten fold. I had no idea I would feel like this. I’m not tending it to be thanked or rewarded. The magic is happening between me and the plants and this sacred space 🙏🏻💚
The conversations, the responses from passers by.. adults and children alike, are all icing on the cake. Im learning what it means to treat everything as sacred. It’s another magical lesson arriving in divine timing. 🙏🏻💚
I’m grateful for the space to plant in, I’m grateful to the person who planted the squash plants! I’m grateful for Sam at the council who stopped the area being returned to parking bays. Sure the planters are pretty ugly and dirty, the paving is on a slope and the tombstone seats have crazy bolts holding them in, but I now love this space with my whole heart 🙏🏻💚
