Things in our cafe that just makes sense!
Vegan & Gluten-free addition 🌱
- We don’t use non-fair trade chocolate, even when it’s three times cheaper 👩🍳
Around 70-80% of the world’s cocoa isn’t certified fair trade, and much of it comes from regions where child labour remains a serious issue
- We don’t treat “gluten-free” as a downgrade - just a different approach in cooking. A big part of our audience is not GF and they still enjoy our products 😌
- We simply call vegan sausages “sausages” and vegan eggs just “eggs”
The menu is clearly marked as plant-based from the start and that says it all, and we mark all the allergens for people to see clearly
- GF oat milk is our regular milk. Obviously we also have almond, coconut and soya, but we will never have “regular” cow milk 🐮❤️
- We bake our own bread. Would it be cheaper and easier for us to buy already made GF and veg bread? Yes. But the incredible taste and texture of our own bread make all the efforts worth it
- Some of our guests have a list of allergies and that’s absolutely okay. We take the time to find something that works for them, without rushing them. I know that for some people in the food industry it’s annoying, but people with allergies have a right to go out and enjoy their life just like everyone else, and all businesses should be build around safe allergy friendly space 🫶
- We don’t make simple cake fillings like just buttercream and sponge… Cake should have layers, fillings, different textures! The only exception for us is Victoria Sponge, cause people asked about it a lot 🙈💖
Sorry not sorry...
