This year marks 40 incredible years of Nick & Jane at The Jolly Coopers, alongside the pub’s 300th anniversary. 🍻❤️

For four decades they’ve created far more than a pub—they’ve built a place that’s brought people together, created lifelong friendships, celebrated milestones, and become part of the heart of Hampton.

Join us as we celebrate an amazing legacy with a day of great food, live music, laughter and memories, all while raising money for two fantastic local charities.

The Swan Sanctuary look out for our feathers friends in this hot weather. Especially the stunning naughty swans they need our help more than ever and so does the sanctuary. ⚠️ Avian Botulism Alert ⚠️

Hot weather can increase the risk of avian botulism in lakes, canals, reservoirs, and ponds.

Botulism is caused by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum, which thrives in rotting plants and dead animals in low-oxygen water. Maggots feeding on this material can carry the toxin, and when ducks, swans, geese, or other waterbirds eat the maggots, they can become seriously ill.

Signs to look out for:
🦆 Unable to fly, stand, or walk
🪽 Drooping or limp wings
🦢 Head or neck hanging down ("limberneck")
😮 Gasping or struggling to breathe

Avian botulism can affect large numbers of waterbirds, with outbreaks sometimes lasting for several weeks and causing hundreds of deaths. Birds may remain paralysed for several days before either recovering or dying.

If you see sick or dead waterbirds, please report them to the relevant local authority or wildlife organisation. Prompt removal of carcasses can help reduce the spread of the disease.

🐾Sharing a lovely local event🐾

If you're an animal lover, this upcoming Pet Service at All Saints' Church, Dogmersfield looks like a wonderful way to spend a Sunday morning.

Pets and their families are welcome - any size or species, and there will be a special guest talk from Jo and Terry of Prickle Lodge Hedgehog Rescue, highlighting the importance of protecting Britain's favourite mammal.
