Our Sunday is shaping up nicely! 🥰

We’ll be serving up our pre-book Sunday Roast, followed by a bit of BINGO! 🎉

When I filmed this, I was genuinely so excited for the day ahead…

But what you didn’t see was that underneath all that excitement, I was also exceptionally nervous.

I felt vulnerable. I was scared.

Because this is all very new for us too.

We’ve made some lovely additions and little changes for you guys, and that has meant that as a team, we’ve had to learn new ways of doing things too.

We’ve now had our carvery/buffet-style Sunday, and this week we tried our kitchen order service.

With these two Sundays under our belt, it’s letting you guys show us what’s loved and wanted, along with what can and can’t work on our Sundays.

And we’re learning more and more every week.

This Sunday we had pretty much a full house — as much as our kitchen can currently accommodate — with our dressed tables, Sunday roasts and desserts, and a completely different kind of Sunday for The Dolphin.

And do you know what makes me even prouder?

We took more in takings than we would on a busy football Sunday… and we did it without the football.

Just our little pub, our food, our customers and our team.

There was no time for photos or videos. We were simply too busy doing what we were there to do.

And watching our little team work together, help each other, problem-solve and just keep going… honestly, that meant more to me than anything.

We are still learning. We are still changing things, finding what works and figuring out how to make it all run even better.

But that’s what building something looks like.

And I think sometimes it’s easy to look at a pub from the outside and not realise just how much goes on behind the scenes.

We are a small, family-run pub with a small team — but honestly, I think we’re capable of something pretty special.

So to our customers…

I’m so incredibly proud of you.

These last couple of Sundays have been another little reminder of just what we can do when we all pull together.

And after being so nervous beforehand, I can honestly say…

I’m excited to see where we can take this. 🐬❤️

There’s just something about a proper Sunday roast… good food, a few drinks, lovely people around the table and absolutely no rush.

And this Sunday 27th September we’ve got a little extra for you too… 🎶

I’m so pleased to have Amanda Murphy joining us, singing from 2pm until 5pm.

She’ll be providing some beautiful, soft live music throughout the afternoon — just the sort of thing to sit back and enjoy while you’re tucking into your roast. ❤️

Nothing too loud or over the top… just lovely music, good food and a proper relaxed Sunday afternoon at The Dolphin. 🐬

Just a little reminder — our Sunday roasts are pre-booked, so please make sure your table is booked by 5pm on Friday.

🥬 THE ONE WITH THE GIANT CABBAGE 🥬

If you’re a Friends fan, you’ll know exactly how this needs to be read… 😂

The one with the giant cabbage.

And when I say giant… I mean GIANT. 🤣

We were very kindly given this absolute monster and, honestly, I’m not sure whether we’ve been given a cabbage or a small tree! 😂🥬

So obviously, there was only one thing to do…

GET THE PHOTOS OUT. 😂

Because this weekend, this beauty is going straight into the kitchen for our Chalfont football team, who are joining us for a proper Sunday roast for around 45 hungry footballers and thier families ⚽️🥬🍽️

And THIS is exactly the sort of thing I love about doing food at The Dolphin…

Big cabbages.
Big roasts.
Big portions.
And hopefully a very full football team afterwards! 😂

Our next public Sunday Roast will then be Sunday 27th September — and after the response to our last one, we’re already looking forward to getting the dining room dressed, the kitchen fired up and the Sunday roast back on! ❤️

All of the food you see in our pictures is food we’ve actually cooked and produced here at The Dolphin — no filters, no colour enhancements and no clever editing. Just our food, exactly as it comes out of our kitchen. 🐬

We’re putting a lot of love into our Sunday roasts, and we’re really pleased to see bookings starting to come in. 🥰
