Our signature cocktail, the ... Cucumber Margarita!
A word of advice for those looking to get there five a day, you should try mixing it with tequila, obvs.
It is an alfresco summer at The Laundry which means endless flows of margaritas, more margaritas, and honestly even more margaritas after that. (Responsible drinking encouraged and non alc versions available)

Trust . She’s done the tasting, the thinking, and the “this actually goes with that” work so you don’t have to.

Think of it as wine matchmaking… but with better outcomes and fewer awkward first dates.
From the 2026 Summer list this week: and nzwineeurope. Pour decisions, but in the best way.

We like a good bottle here (a lot), which is why corkage is part of the culture. Bring your own, 7 days a week. And on Tuesdays? It’s on us. Yes, really.

Say hello to the real deal = veal.

Butter doing what butter does best (beurre noisette, if we’re being polite about it), lemon for balance, capers for attitude.

It’s rich, sharp, and just a little bit dramatic, like most good decisions on a menu.

A crisp meringue, soft centre, seasonal fruit doing its thing, and a dessert that has been the subject of more debate than most world affairs. The Pavlova, Laundry style.

We’ll say this gently: it’s Kiwi. Not Aussie. We don’t make the rules, we just serve it.
Either way, it disappears quickly.

Public service announcement...the terrace is back!

Tables in the sun, drinks that last slightly longer than intended, and food that suddenly feels like it was always meant to be eaten outside.

Our Seasonal Board is here too, a changing snapshot of what’s good right now, led by the rhythm of the growing seasons and the questionable idea that we can actually keep up with it.. and here it is...

🍑 Grilled peach, burrata, verjus-honey syrup, pickled chilli & fresh basil
🥗 The Laundry lyonnaise; herbed frisée, dingley dell lardons, poached egg, croutons
🍝 Crab Linguine, lemon & chilli
🥩 Wagyu rump 300g; apple and peppercorn jus gf
🍓 Prize Strawberries & vanilla chantilly

Because food tastes better when you’re paying attention to the season. Apparently.

How people think Mel walks in vs how she actually walks in: Calm, composed, in control.

In reality: coffee in hand, 10 things already happening, answering questions she hasn’t even been fully asked yet. Somehow still runs the place like a boss.

What began as a practical breakfast has somehow become a vehicle for activated almonds, bee pollen and ingredients nobody can confidently pronounce.

Ours keeps things a little simpler.

Anzac-inspired granola, made properly, served with all the things you’d actually want to eat before 10am.

Proof that breakfast doesn’t need a rebrand every six months.

The flat white was born because New Zealanders looked at a cappuccino and simply thought, ‘absolutely not.’ Too foamy. Too fluffy. Too much going on.

So they fixed it.

And suddenly the flat white was born. Balanced, bold, and quietly superior.

One small cup with one very big ego.

We can’t exactly defend the health benefits of the side of warm baguette with lashings of butter, but hand on heart, we can confirm that chicken liver itself is pure gold. It’s one of the ultimate superfoods, packed with iron, Vitamin A for immune system and night vision, and oosles od B-vitamins like B12 and folate for energy. Whats your superfood?

So what diner are you?

Ordering a coffee in 2026 is no longer a simple interaction. It’s a personality test.

In a world of custom syrups and alternative milks, there’s something deeply reassuring about someone who still wants coffee that tastes like… coffee. Honestly? Brave.

No judgement here though.

We’ve taken that legendary, crunch-loving spirit (aka the ANZAC cookie) and upgraded it into The Laundry’s Anzac Granola. Inspired by the biscuit of Australian New Zealand Army Corp back in WW1, due to the survival of a grueling naval journey without spoiling, back in those days they were tough enough to break a tooth. Not our Granola version, it’s golden and perfectly toasted and packs enough energy to fuel you through the weekend. Because let’s face it: navigating the Saturday morning brunch rush is a tactical operation.

We’re open for deployment 7 days a week for all your long, lazy, alfresco needs:

Mon – Sat: Breakfast & brunch served until 3pm.
Sundays: Extended Brunch & Lunch until 4pm (because Sunday debriefs require a slower pace).

Assemble your troops and get down here.
