Responding to event happened last week.
A group of children accompanied by about four adults waiting for bus outside my shop. I was setting inside with one my customer,I noticed a child is playing with the shop ventilator which is located at outside shop corner. I went outside and
I looked at the adults and it seemed to me they are not paying any attention, then I told the child do not touch the vent is dangerous, that’s all I said.
I was not aware of the fact that the child is autistic.
Obviously if I were aware of that I would have not approached the child.
I came back to the shop and carry on talking to my customer, we were talking about film star, suddenly I saw one the four teacher or helper holding the child and shouting to my customer, saying stop laughing, and then another teacher came in, we tried to explain to her my customer laughing has nothing to do with regard to incident. I explained to the lady that it is insane to suggest that. At this moment the gentleman standing by the door asking my customer to step out for fist fight. That was bad behaviour.
Finally it was not my intention to upset the child, as I said before, I was not aware of his condition.
I would like to take this opportunity to say to the child and his family, I am truly sorry.
