On July 1st we were hacked.
We had our account suspended. Money stolen. Google accounts accessed. We had our store vandalised.
Nearly 300K followers across Instagram and Facebook couldn't hear my shout for help. 6 years of hard work was crumbling before my eyes. A few people realised something was wrong and that our daily stories and reels weren't showing. People were finding our backup page ().
The community came to our aid. Our regulars kept coming in. Customers offered their network of contacts. Small local businesses such as , .stop, , and .outt did their best to spread the word. Helen at shared updates to Chingford locals.
Councillors Mitchell Goldie, Kelly Summers and Siobhan Wing gave their support. Our local Member of Parliament Sir Iain Duncan Smith personally came to the bakery and wrote to Meta.
My brother and I fought. We fought hard. I went to Meta HQ with brownies to explain the situation. I continued posting on TikTok. We continued baking, serving and smiling.
It was a gruelling 2 weeks. Like a nightmare I couldn't wake up from. But I'm finally back. I missed you all ❤️
