The mangoes are especially good this time of year.

Which is why our Chicken Mango Ansalaato feels right at home on a summer table. Juicy mango, crisp salad, Somali-spiced chicken and a Shidni & mango dressing that brings everything together.

Fresh. Light. Full of flavour.

A Sabiib favourite, whatever the season.

One year ago, we opened our doors in Harringay with a simple goal: to bring the very best of Somali cuisine, culture and hospitality to North London.

Over the last 12 months, we’ve been welcomed with open arms by this vibrant community, and we’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received from both familiar faces and those discovering Somali food for the very first time.

Today, our Harringay location continues to grow, and we’re pleased to offer bookings for larger groups of up to 20 guests. Whether you’re planning a family gathering, celebration, community event or special occasion, we’d love to host you.

From morning Shaah and Malawax to our slow-cooked Haniid and signature Somali dishes, every meal is an opportunity to share a part of our culture.

Thank you, Harringay, for an unforgettable first year. Here’s to many more.

North London, have you visited us yet?

Tucked away in the heart of Green Lanes, Sabiib Haringey is our newest restaurant and a space we are incredibly proud of. With room for up to 150 guests, soaring ceilings, striking architecture and a menu rooted in Somali hospitality, it was designed to bring people together over great food and conversation.

Now that the warmer weather has arrived, our bifold windows are open, filling the restaurant with fresh air and bringing the energy of Green Lanes inside. Whether you’re joining us for breakfast, lunch, dinner or gathering with family and friends, there’s always a seat waiting for you.

From our slow-cooked Haniid and Bariis to freshly made Sabayaad, Somali Shaah and the dishes that have made Sabiib a destination for guests from across London, Haringey offers the full Sabiib experience on a larger scale.

If you’re planning a larger gathering, celebrating a special occasion, or simply looking to discover something different in North London, we’d love to welcome you.

For many Somalis, Malawax is one of those simple dishes that has a place at almost every table.

In today’s video, Liban talks through how we make our Malawax fresh to order at Sabiib Haringey and Sabiib Acton. A staple found in homes across Somalia, it’s loved for its simplicity, versatility and comforting flavour.

Enjoy it the traditional way with a drizzle of honey and a cup of Somali Shaah, pair it with your main meal, or even finish your visit with it as a dessert. Few dishes can move so effortlessly from breakfast, to lunch, to dinner and beyond.

Made with simple ingredients and generations of tradition, Malawax remains a go-to favourite for Somalis around the world. Sometimes the simplest dishes are the ones that stay with us the longest.

Available daily at Sabiib Haringey and Sabiib Acton.

Some dishes tell a story of a people.

Oodkac is one of them. Traditionally prepared by Somali nomads, this preserved meat was created as a way to carry nourishment across long journeys, long before refrigeration existed. Rich, intensely flavourful, and deeply rooted in Somali culture, it remains one of our most cherished ingredients.

At Sabiib, we’ve added our own touch.

Our house-made hummus is prepared fresh in-house and brings balance to the richness of the Oodkac, creating a combination that feels both familiar and new. While hummus isn’t traditionally Somali, it ties the dish together beautifully, allowing the bold flavours of the Oodkac to shine.

Served with warm Sabayaad, this is a dish best enjoyed the traditional way — torn, scooped and shared by hand around the table.

A small plate with a big story, connecting tradition, culture and flavour in every bite.

One of the most traditional dishes in Somali cuisine, Oodkac (also known as Mukmaad) is a centuries-old method of preserving meat that dates back to the nomadic way of life. Beef is slowly cooked, dried and preserved, creating a rich, intensely savoury flavour that has been enjoyed across Somali households for generations.

At Sabiib, we honour that tradition while adding our own touch. Our Hummus Oodkac pairs this cherished Somali delicacy with smooth house-made hummus, finished with sesame oil and served with freshly prepared Sabayaad. It’s a meeting of heritage and creativity that has quickly become a favourite amongst guests looking to explore the depth of Somali cuisine.

For those wanting the traditional experience, Oodkac is also available on its own, just as it has been enjoyed for generations.

A small plate with a big story behind it, and one we believe every guest should try at least once.

Some dishes arrive on a menu after months of testing. Others begin much further away.

Our Stuffed Sabayaad was inspired by Liban’s travels through Mogadishu and East Africa, where vibrant flavours, bustling cafés and a culture of sharing food with family and friends leave a lasting impression. Back in London, that inspiration became one of our most distinctive small plates.

Made in-house and prepared to order, it is a dish that celebrates the flavours and traditions that shaped it while feeling right at home on a Sabiib table.

If you are visiting our Haringey restaurant, this is one dish we would encourage you not to overlook.

Available at Sabiib Haringey, Green Lanes.

Our number one selling dish, and for good reason.

Liban explains what makes our famous Haniid and Bariis so special. A slow-cooked Somali lamb shank marinated with traditional xawaash spices and cooked until perfectly tender, served alongside fragrant Somali rice.

At Sabiib, Haniid is more than just a meal. It represents generations of Somali hospitality, where food is prepared with patience, shared with loved ones, and enjoyed together around the table.

If you’re visiting us for the first time, this is the dish we recommend. A true taste of Somali cuisine and the dish that keeps guests coming back time and time again.

Somali Food with Love.

Yesterday marked the first day of Eid, and one of the busiest and most special days of the year for all of us at Sabiib Somali Restaurant.

After a long and incredibly busy shift, our team came together for a small celebration with cake, smiles and a well deserved moment together.

Hospitality is more than service. Service is taking an order. Hospitality is how you make people feel. It is the care from the kitchen, the warmth from front of house, the teamwork behind every table, and the energy our staff give throughout the day to create an experience guests remember.

While many celebrate Eid at home with family, our team spent their Eid working hard to welcome and look after thousands of guests across both restaurants. From our chefs and kitchen porters, to our runners, hosts, waiters and managers, every person plays a part in what makes Sabiib special.

To our entire team, thank you for your hard work, patience and heart.
And to every guest who spent part of their Eid with us, thank you for your support and for celebrating with us.

Eid Mubarak from the whole Sabiib family.
