NEW: Tandoori pizza
Curry on pizza.
Provocative?
Entirely illegal in Italy.
An unlikely pairing, a clash of cultures.
But if there’s one person who can make it work, it’s Maruf.
Bangladeshi born and raised, with pizza skills honed in Italy.
Talent he then brought to Ritherdon Road.
A few weeks back he made a wicked dish for the team.
Staff food full of flavours from his childhood.
So magnificent we made it into a pizza.
Marinated tandoori chicken, juicy, aromatic and tender.
On a sweet peshwari base, just like the kind you’d find in your favourite naan.
A smooth blend of coconut, almond and sultana.
Fior di latte, red onions and chilli turn this into a pizza packed with heat and flavour.
It’s not at all what you’d expect a curry pizza to be.
It’s fresh, juicy and demands your attention.
A proper Friday firecracker.
Maruf didn’t stop there.
He got the paneer out to play
So we’ve got a veggie version too.
