Ode to my favourite cafe”

Open for coffee, pastries and food
People come here to lift their mood
City Place cafe has friendly staff
So order a latte and have a laugh

Brazilians, Hungarians and English too
And every day somebody new
It’s a peaceful spot by the green
Part of London’s cafe scene

I sit and watch the world go by
As I gaze upon a summer sky
A celebrity passes by outside
Beneath their Ray Bans trying to hide

It’s the ideal place to rest your mind
So take a seat and just unwind
Come with friends for evening jazz
And you will find some razzmatazz

Sometimes quiet, other times busy
They even serve your favourite fizzy
So come along to City Place
And take time out from the race
