Michael Stewart aka Chef Mike is a French trained chef, born in Ardèche, a department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of Southeastern France, where people are very proud of their agricultural roots and their farming traditions. He grew up surrounded by small farmers, picking up fresh milk and cheese daily. His food and natural wine passion translates into the changing menu he creates from sourcing the best seasonal and local ingredients.
Prior to moving to London, he was involved with the Paris bistronomie scene, working in renowned restaurants such as Simone, La Bouche, Aux 2 Amis. Since moving to London 6 years ago, he has worked at Brilliant Corners, The Richmond, Elliots and Rosewood Hotel. La Paillote now gives him his dream platform to offer and express what Chef Mike is truly about, waiting for you to discover and experience it.
