AnyFeast: Cook, Order, Enjoy!

Day three of vrat and it hits around 2 PM β€” that heavy, foggy, need-to-lie-down feeling. You assume it's the fasting. Usually it's the thali.

Sabudana khichdi, aloo, sabudana vada, more aloo. All carbs, barely anything else. Energy spikes, then drops, and you're flat by mid-afternoon.

The fix isn't eating less. It's balancing what's already there β€” paneer, curd, or whatever vrat-friendly vegetables your family keeps. Protein, fibre and some healthy fat alongside the carbs, so the energy holds instead of crashing.

A little planning is the whole difference between getting through the nine days and enjoying them.

It's 5 PM and you're circling the kitchen. Not because you're weak-willed β€” because your body is asking for something, and it isn't necessarily food.
The 5 PM slump is usually one of two things: blood sugar dipping after a long stretch since lunch, or a brain that's been on since 9 AM and wants a break. Biscuits solve neither. They just quiet it for twenty minutes.
Three things that work better:
Drink a glass of water first. Thirst and hunger feel remarkably similar, and it costs you nothing to check.
Keep a protein snack within reach. Roasted chana, curd, whatever survives in your desk drawer. Decided in advance beats decided while hungry.
Plan dinner early. Half the 5 PM raid is really dread about having nothing sorted for later. Know what's coming and the craving loses its urgency.

Someone at home has diabetes, and every meal has quietly turned into a negotiation.
Here's a simpler way to think about it. Forget the lists of banned foods. Just build the plate in three parts.
Veggies first β€” fill half the plate with non-starchy vegetables.
Then protein β€” dal, tofu, paneer, eggs, chicken, whatever's being cooked anyway.
Then carbs β€” rice, millet, roti. Whatever actually gets eaten in your house.
Notice that nothing is banned. Rice is still on the plate. It just isn't most of the plate anymore.
Simple plate, less confusion. That's the whole idea.
This is general guidance, not a treatment plan β€” anyone managing diabetes should work the specifics out with their doctor or dietitian.

The fridge isn't empty. That's never been the problem.
There's milk, some bhindi going soft, a few containers of last night's something, and a bottle of sauce that's been in there since March. What there isn't, is an idea.

So you stand with the door open, decide it's too much effort, and order in. Again.

AnyFeast is built for exactly that moment. Point your phone at what you've actually got, and it comes back with something you can cook tonight β€” a paneer tikka wrap out of the stuff you'd already written off.
Scan. Cook. Feast.
