The first is not a very exciting photo but this makes me realise how much has happened since then.
11th January 2022, 5 days shy of my Dad unexpectedly passing away, we had built the foundations of a farm shop, a mad idea we had in the summer of 2021 after watching Jeremy Clarkson’s Farm. The farm shop opened in April 2022.
In 2023, we built the tearoom extension, held our first FORKFEST (music festival) and our popular Nibbly Nights, a tapas style event with homemade foods from around the world.
We opened up our doors to local musicians for open mic (no mic) nights. In 2025, we created a beer garden with a fantastic view of the Tanat valley and bought a horse box mobile bar.
I’ve greeted people from nearby villages to visitors from all over the world …. El Salvador, New Zealand, Germany, Japan, Holland, Australia, Poland, America and more. We were recognised in the Countryside Alliance awards for the whole of Wales 🏴
Back in 2023, there were maybe two long-standing cafes in nearby villages. The last couple of years have seen cafes sprouting up everywhere, 3 of them in our little village alone, and another new one opening up this week in the next village.
I’ve loved every minute of building my business, the best bit has always been connecting with people and feeding them good homemade food. I couldn’t have done it without my husband, my kids, my customers and the unwavering support of true friends, especially Del Williams and Eifion, our farming neighbours who are now our close friends.
Now it’s time to move on, both mentally and physically, onto the next chapter of our lives and leave all this behind. We will hold on to the amazing memories we created. My Mum and Dad were very much part of this journey but now I need to look forward, cherish my kids, cuddle my animals and look to a future of health, happiness and eventually grandkids. A new adventure begins 😛 ❤️ 🥰
