YOUR PROTEST NEEDED URGENTLY
Re POWYS COUNCIL DEPOT
Looks likely that the Depot WILL CLOSE on 1st September. That will mean the equipment including GRITTERS will operate out of Welshpool. Furthermore there is talk that some of the gritting routes are being totally axed.
Imagine your child travelling to school coming over Bwlchyddar or Brithdir on a frosty morning and the roads have not been gritted. ❄️❄️❄️
It doesn’t bear thinking about. 😡
Surely this needs URGENT INVESTIGATION because the terrain around the area is hardly made up of level roads and when driving west or north out of Llanfyllin the roads climb quickly to a much higher altitude and that affects weather conditions hugely. For example the road to Llanwddyn, Llanrhaeadr, Llangedwyn. When the temperature drops the condition of these roads changes quickly.
ALSO:
Llanfyllin Depot is currently responsible for 812 kilometres of roads - the largest are in Powys. WE ALL NEED TO OBJECT to STOP THIS RIDICULOUS DECISION BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!
PLEASE, PLEASE take the time to contact the relevant officers at Powys County Council.
