It’s officially spooky month!! 🎃🪩👻💃💀

As most of you know, Halloween is also my eldest daughter’s birthday, so I don’t typically do Halloween orders…

HOWEVER, I do like to treat you lot and so I’ll be filling the cherry shed with loads of goodies for you !

The cherry cake shed will be open on Friday 30th October- Sunday 1st November (or until sell out)!

Can’t make it? No stress, postal is also an option for you! Pre orders for these will be live from the 24th October !

I had 3 days notice for this cake, yes that’s right - 3 days.

I have and will always be one to try my absolute best to fit in last minute cakes, and there was no question with this one.

I’ve taken my two little girls to Pili Pala in our local church for 4 years! So when one of the lovely ladies comes to me to ask me to make this, of course I’m going to say yes.

Sometimes people come into our lives and care for us more than our own family do, and that’s how we’ve always felt from our little one day a week group.

I’m forever grateful for the wonderful people I’ve met through Tabernacl, and this cake was beyond a pleasure to make 🫶🏼

I’ve been putting off writing this because, if I’m completely honest, I’ve had to swallow my pride to post it. I’ve always told myself I’d be raw and honest on here, so here it is..

So many people ask me, “How’s the shop going?” and I always say, “Amazing!” because I’m so proud of what I’ve built.

But the reality is… it’s been quiet, a lot quieter than I ever expected. And saying that out loud is hard.

When you run your own business, especially something you’ve poured your heart, soul, time and money into, you can’t help but feel like the quiet days are a reflection of you.

You start questioning everything.

Am I doing something wrong?
Do people still want us here?
What can I change?
How do I make things better?

And behind all the exciting things you see on social media, the awards, the achievements, the new ideas and the smiles, there are bills to pay, wages to cover and the constant worry that comes with running a small business.

Spuddy Lovely started from a little horsebox and has grown into something I’m incredibly proud of, but right now, we need a little bit of help from the people around us.

So I’m swallowing my pride and asking…

Is there anything we can do?
Is there something you’d love to see on the menu?
A deal you think we should run?
Something different you’d like us to offer?
Something we could improve?

Please tell me. Honestly.

And if you’ve never visited us, or it’s been a while since you last came in, we’d absolutely love to see you. Even if it’s just a coffee, a quick drink or a cheeky spud.

Because every single customer makes a difference to a small independent business.

I’m not writing this because I want sympathy. I’m writing it because I care too much about this little business to sit back and pretend everything is fine when it isn’t.

I don’t want to give up. I want to make it work. I just need to know what you want from us and how we can make Spuddy Lovely a place you want to keep coming back to.

So… if you’ve got an idea, tell me.

I know I’m not the only business owner in the hospitality sector who is feeling the pressure.

So if you fancy a spud this week, you know where we are.

We thank God for the Rev. John Treharne’s 40 years of ministry.

After last night's meeting (27/9) at Tabernacl, John's forty years of ministry (along with Helen) were acknowledged with a cake, a bouquet of flowers for Helen, a couple of heartfelt tributes, a gift of a book for John, and a video message from Caersalem, Caernarfon (where John served from 1986 to 2010).

The occasion was led by the Rev. Ifan George, former minister of Maescanner Dafen — John’s home church.

May Jesus Christ continue to be exalted among us through the ministry of the Word, and may God raise up others to share the gospel of Jesus faithfully.

It’s time to talk about the dreaded time… elf on the shelf is soon to return (I know, I know)

So, let’s all embrace our Type A energy and get organised, shall we??

Elf arrival boxes are now open for pre order! Each box will include

• 4x vanilla cupcakes
• a personalised letter from the cheeky elf for your littles

These will remain at the same £15 as usual, no inflation around here for us skint mums !

These will be up for collection on Monday 30th of November (you can come as late as you’d like when the littles are asleep!) Simply pop me a message to book yours 💚❤️
