It is with extremely heavy hearts that we, the original owners of the Hideaway, have to share some bad news. If you were not aware, over the Christmas period, our business was subject to an appalling arson attack that caused extensive damage to the building, leaving a trail of destruction and devastation.
Sadly, our tenants, were not insured against contents, as they had agreed to be. The lack of insurance coverage has made it impossible to recover the losses incurred in the fire. The police have not helped resolve the matter, and we have to bear the brunt of the financial and mentally damaging and draining implications of the attack.
As a family, we have faced the daunting task of clearing up all the debris and destruction left behind by the fire. It has been a heart-wrenching experience, as we have had to throw away everything, including all the happy memories we had through the lockdown period when we opened.
It is with great sadness that we have decided to close the doors of The Hideaway permanently and not rent it out again. We cannot continue to live in fear of a repeat incident, and we have agreed that a peaceful life is worth more than the worry of criminals; lowlife scumbags are going to come to do it again.
We feel so fortunate to have such wonderful friends, neighbouring businesses, customers and staff that have helped us through this amazing journey of the Hideaway.
We’d like to thank you all for your amazing support - we truly appreciate it! Please enjoy some of our favourite moments to remember the hideaway as a positive and happy part of our community in the second post.
Our last goodbye,
The Hideaway
