We are sad to say that the Lizard Lighthouse and Heritage Centre is closed.
The site should reopen in the Spring of 2023 under new management.
We would like to take this opportunity in thanking everyone for there support.

Good morning everyone!

Due to staff illness, there will be no tours up the lighthouse today. we apologise for any disappointment this may cause!

Our gift shop and heritage centre remains open, with lots of interactive displays to entertain the whole family. You can also book onto tomorrows lighthouse tours, so please do come and chat with us! 🌊

Team paged 14:13 on Mon 30th May to a male casualty who injured their back at Lizard Point.

We used our stretcher to move the casualty up to the car park to wait for the ambulance, however with Cornwall being so busy at the moment they were unable to provide an arrival time. Eventually we had to move the casualty to Lizard Lighthouse for shelter whilst awaiting an ambulance.

The casualty was recovered by Cornwall Air Ambulance who transported the casualty to Treliske.

Many thanks to our flank teams Porthleven Coastguard Team and Porthoustock Coastguard Rescue Team who helped looking after the casualty on rotation.

Also, many thanks to Lizard Lighthouse & Heritage Centre for providing shelter and refreshments whilst awaiting rescue.

The fog horns blowing and the light is shining and the Coffee & Crepe Box are serving their delicious sweet or savoury crepes and fresh coffee. Tours up to the lighthouse all day , free for under fives and there’s buttons to press, foghorns to blow and lighthouses to build.
