Important Notice to Patients – East Calder Medical Practice
We would like to make all patients aware that we have recently experienced a number of incidents involving abusive behaviour towards our staff in the front car park.
Our team is here to provide care, support, and assistance to all patients, and we expect everyone to be treated with respect and courtesy at all times.
Parking Information - During the hours of 7.30- 5.30pm
-The front car park is for staff use only. To maximise the limited space available, staff members often need to block each other’s vehicles.
- Any cars parked in this area without the appropriate permit may receive an NHS unauthorised parking sticker.
- Patients are encouraged to use the rear car park, which is designated for patient use. Please be aware that this car park is for unwell or infirm patients visiting the practice. Be considerate regarding this.
- Disabled parking spaces must only be used by Blue Badge holders and patients who genuinely require them.
We are aware of ongoing misuse of both staff and patient parking areas, including vehicles being left for extended periods for park and ride purposes or even while travelling on holidays. These behaviours are monitored and will be addressed.
Please also note that new signage will be installed in both car parks over the coming weeks to clearly outline parking arrangements and expectations.
Zero Tolerance Policy - Abusive or aggressive behaviour towards our staff—whether verbal or physical—is unacceptable. This is in line with the NHS Zero Tolerance Policy, and such behaviour will result in patients being removed from the practice list.
Our staff are here to support you. We kindly ask for your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe, respectful, and fair environment for everyone.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.-
