Dear Customers and local residents in Liverpool
I am the owner of Mexican House in Liverpool, and i have recently seen a lot of information being posted and shared around social media regarding an allegation of r**e. During this incident I was present throughout and i will give a factual account of what happened on the night of 26th September Saturday 2026 at around 23:00.
I want to honestly inform everyone that, I put the young girl’s safety as a top most priority as i also have a 26 year old daughter and a 18 year old son. She was a young girl, who look vulnerable and looked distressed. My fatherhood instincts kicked in. My responsibility as a law biding citizen was to protect a young girl that needed help.
At around 23:00 ish on Saturday, two of the regulars that were in the restaurant were having a cigarette outside the restaurant, and brought a young girl, whom i did not know entered the restaurant requesting me to call a taxi while I was ready to close and head home for the night. From my observation, she appeared to be heavily intoxicated and also under some influence of something. I clearly remember she was distressed and she looked disheveled . She had muddy clothes when she entered the restaurant. I also observed behaviour which made me believe that she may have been under the influence of something, although I cannot say with certainty what she had consumed or whether she had taken any drugs.
When the customers asked me to ring for a taxi, i asked the girl if she is okay, and where she was heading and who to ring for help. Shes wasn’t able to answer me, therefore i took the decision to ring the police on 999 requesting for advice and help as a concerned citizen. She requested me not to ring the police, but i chose to ignore that because i had no choice but to ring 999 to get some help for her as i had no details of her, where she was going or her next of kin details.
I rang 999 and I have posted picture of me ringing 999 at 23:28. My wife was present at the time in the restaurant and she has witnessed everything that happened, and a family member who came to visit me was present. They were both waiting for me to close the restaurant so we all could go home. The first time i spoke on 999, the police informed me it will be around 1 hour time before they can come for assist. The two regulars had left at the time therefore, i took the responsibility upon myself to ensure her safety.
During this time, the young girl was sleeping and rolling around the restaurant. She asked me for a tequila rose, to which i declined and offered a glass of water instead. She wanted to go to toilet and i pointed her towards the toilet. She kept asking and going around restaurant asking me and my wife for her phone, Jacket and bag which she never came to the restaurant with. She then walked toward the corridor where the fire exit is located on the side of the restaurant, where the door was wide open. She then approached my family member and looked at his phone and asked him for the phone and her jacket. She then noticed me ringing the police again at 23:42 (again a screenshot from my personal phone), to which she kept telling me not to ring the police again. I was only ringing the police to see how long they were going to be, at which point she then ran out the side door shouting “he’s r**ed me, he’s r**ed me. I then informed the police officer who was on the phone to me, shes running and screaming “he’s r**ed me he’s r**ed me. The officer then asked me where she’s headed towards to which i replied, shes ran away from the fire exit to the right side of the restaurant and took a left.
Then after i received a call from an unknown caller at 23:47 which was the police officer, who mentioned that they have the young girl now to which i was relieved . She was a young girl who was vulnerable, looked distressed, and as a business owner who has ran the business in this wonderful community for more than 8 years, i felt it was my responsibility as a human being to ensure her safety. I asked the officer if i am allowed to go home, to which i was advised that i was able to go home and close the restaurant.
Following the incident next day 27th Sept 2026.
At around 08:46 the next morning on Sunday at 27th September 2026, i received a call from the local police officer wanting to meet us at our restaurant within the next hour. Me and my wife, then drove towards the restaurant to help and assist the police officers in any way shape or form. The officer required us to give a statement of the night. Further more the officer advised us to close the restaurant for the day Sunday 27th September, as the venue was a part of the ongoing investigation. After my statement, i handed my restaurant keys to the investigation office and we left as i did not want to hinder any ongoing investigation.
There is an ongoing police investigation for what happened to the young girl during that night. That is all i have been informed by the police.
I do not know what had happened to her before she entered the restaurant or after she left, and I therefore cannot comment on anything that may have occurred outside the restaurant. I did not see anyone r**e, assault or sexually touch the female while she was inside the restaurant. I did not personally witness any incident of a sexual nature taking place inside the restaurant.
Therefore i please request everyone to respect the young girl and help the police during this serious investigation and stop with false rumours during this time.
I wanted to stay put during this ongoing investigation, however there has been a lot of false and unclear rumours spreading about in the local community of which i feel a part of, therefore i have had to put this statement across.
