To mark the launch of our new menu tomorrow (hopefully!!) we have a challenge for you!

Get all of the rings on the pole in two minutes or less and get your next hot drink for £1 or complete the challenge in less than a minute to get your next hot drink completely FREE!!

3 different designs to choose from........any children wishing to enter and successfully complete the challenge will win a sweet treat!!

So apparently yesterday was National Coffee Day and tomorrow is International Coffee Day......who knew?!!

To celebrate today and tomorrow you can add a shot of syrup to your coffee at no extra cost!!

So the offer of a Christmas Market was a lot more popular than I could ever have imagined!!

As those that regularly visit us will know we are small hence the 'Cosy' in our name!!

Due to the popularity I will be putting a number of dates together and the Christmas Markets will be offered on all of these days, if availability allows sellers are welcome on more than one of those days.

We will also aim to have only one stall of it's type on each of the days to ensure maximum sales for each individual seller.

We will of course advertise these events on our social media accounts however we ask that you also advertise on your own accounts and share our posts to ensure we have successful days 🎄

Ajit Singh Atwal spoke to me earlier in the year and asked would we be doing something similar this year and we 100% will be.

Halloween isn't for everyone but Mrs C's Tea Cosy is for everyone ❤️❤️❤️

WHAT A GUY....Just left my Dads Nursing Home and my phone rang, with the caller firstly apologising for ringing so late, asked how my Dad & Reggie are getting on and then blew me away with yet another amazing act of generosity 💛

Our Mayor and Littleover Liberal Democrats Cllr Ajit Singh Atwal went on to say he had just seen my Facebook post and is in total agreement and has offered to pay for 10 spaces for this evening for elderly customers that fear being alone on Halloween. We agreed that it can be a scary time especially for our elderly residents and he said if we can create a safe space at Mrs C's Tea Cosy then its got to be a good thing. If you know of an elderly person that could benefit from Ajits amazing offer please let me know, I will be selecting people that I think will benefit from this and of course you can still purchase a ticket for yourself and friends.

So a while back we advertised an 'evening of light' for children that don't like or are unable to cope with Halloween Parties or Tick or Treating and despite lots of positive comments we've had no bookings and as a result this event has been cancelled 😢

However after speaking to several regular customers about another idea, I'm excited to offer something special to all of the adults that don't like sitting at home on Halloween Night sometimes alone. I know some of our elderly customers don't always feel safe when the door knocks.

So we are offering a trick free zone and an evening of treats.

For £12 per person you can experience an evening laughter, company, food & drink 🍷

Food will be in the style of a buffet including pizza, quiche, herby potatoes, salad, coleslaw, tortilla chips & dips.

One Hot Drink of your choice

Each customer will receive a bag of homemade brownie bites to take home 💛

Friday 31st October
4:30pm till 7.30pm

Booking is essential 💛
Tickets to be purchased in advance 💛
Additional hot drinks can be purchased 💛
As a very special treat for one night only you can bring your own bottle 🍾 💛

Who would be interested if we were to offer a Mini Christmas Market?

Would you be looking to trade or purchase?

Tables would be free purely to ensure those trading would see the benefits, we don't want to be one of those people that charge for hire and then you end up being out of pocket as we would be hosting this for the community.

If stall holders wished though they could make a voluntary contribution to one of the 3 groups we are collecting for to donate to at Christmas.

We would be selling hot drinks, cold cobs & cakes but in the interests of Health & Safety we would not be offering hot food during this time.

Please leave a comment of whether you would be trading, buying or both, along with a preferred day of Saturday or Sunday.

We have never offered this before so is something completely new for 2026

Apparently today is National Good Neighbour Day!

So a huge shout-out to our immediate neighbours CLS Travel why not pay them a visit and book your next holiday?!

The White Swan Littleover 3 years of neighbours and friendship.......we provide the breakfasts and brownies whilst they are always on hand to give us an emergency bag of ice and on the odd occasion a 12pm drink after a crazy Friday morning 🤣

We couldn't not mention our first neighbour and partner in crime Alison Woodings of Homely Passions along with her Shop Security aka Mrs C's Tea Cosy Top Dog Basil, I don't think any other words are needed for this duo BUT you can catch here on Thursday as she FINALLY returns to work.........it's been a long simmer without you 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

As a side note we are OPEN today (Monday) but CLOSED tomorrow (Tuesday) due to Reggie having a hospital appointment, we are then back open Wednesday as normal ❤️❤️❤️

We absolutely love hearing positive feedback, our most popular comments are 'you serve the best coffee' 'breakfast was amazing as always' but the ones that truly warms our hearts are conversations we overhear.

Yesterday a regular couple were in and got talking to a gentlemen who also visits regularly and the gentleman said to the couple 'I love it here, it really is one of the best cafes in the whole of Britain' the wife of the couple nodded in agreement saying 'there is just something about this place that keeps pulling you back' the conversation continued and the gentleman said something about how humble I remain, at this point I was on the verge of tears, when the husband of the wife said 'she always has been, it's the way she was raised' he then added 'her Dad was the same too'

I've always said this place is so much more than a means of income to me, there are weeks when I don't even take a wage myself BUT that far outweighs any paid employment I've ever had.

Mrs C's Tea Cosy was always built on a dream and I wanted to be more than just your average cafe, I wanted to offer a place where you all felt like friends (some have even become like family) rather than just customers.

I'm often asked if I will ever move to bigger premises but I truly don't think I ever would, yes we are small, yes it's a tight squeeze at times, there are times we have to put time limits on tables but we wouldn't have it any other way. A larger premises would take away 'The Cosy'

I'm also asked how long I see myself being here and honestly as a few know it would be my absolute dream to retire to Wales but that's a long long way off (I still have at least 20 more working years in me!!) and as long as you all continue to make it financially viable for me I will continue to be here, as we all know as much as dreams can come true it would break my heart to leave you all, so no we are not going anywhere any time soon!
